Before running away with the circus, Kimtortion started out life as a viola player. From the world of classical music, she began to explore other musical realms and discovered computers as a way of releasing some of the cacophony of contorted noises in her head. She has produced and performed for a variety of live performances and continues to create music that spans an eclectic array of genres, culminating in a sound at times reminiscent of modern victorian mechanical automatons: futuristic yet old worldly with a sprinkle of nostalgic lo-fi charm. Her musical works are cinematic dark fairytales that weave vintage soundscapes with postmodern synthesis. Her magical style is befitting of her unique lifestyle, traveling with the circus. Whilst not performing you can find Kimtortion making noise in her caravan alongside her cat Mittens.
